The climate centre is intended to work within an environmental education mandate, providing visitors with the full body experience of a conserver lifestyle. All aspects of living are to occur in an environment that provides the comforts of life while minimizing the use of greenhouse gas producing energy systems. The intention of the design is to integrate all systems to create a sustainable whole.
The program calls for a space to accommodate 32 visitors at a time; a 90° bridge; an ice fishing/swimming dock; a grey water pond and weirs; a greenhouse / gateway for winter grey water treatment; earth-sheltered overnight sleeping dorms; garden plots and playing fields.
